You will crate and ship outgoing finished product and/or parts; maintain proper levels of stockroom inventory; pick/deliver components to production areas; load/unload freight from trucks with a forklift.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Work with Purchasing Department and Production Supervisor to ensure components are available when needed
• Assist with the cleanliness of the department
• Store hazardous materials according to OSHA standards
• Conduct cycle counts as required with finished goods
• Count and verify outgoing materials according to specified bill of lading and/or shipping paperwork
• Build pallets and crates according to specified measurements for outgoing product shipments, ensuring maximum protection from damage while in transit
• Ship outgoing finished products or parts according to specified instructions on shipping paperwork
• Report shortages, damages, or specification departures in any outgoing materials (quality check)
• Handle returned goods in expedient fashion to obtain proper credit
• Operate an electric forklift for loading, unloading, moving, storing, or stacking materials using standard safety principles
• Cross-train with other areas as requested
• Assist in other areas of Production as requested
• Participate in safety functions pertaining to Production
• Pull shop orders
• Inspect equipment to ensure no defects before shipping
• Work overtime as required
• Other reasonably related duties

• Ability to operate basic hand and power tools as well as a hand jack
• Operates electric forklift
• Ability to build wooden pallets and custom size shipping crates

• Ability to understand and follow verbal instructions
• Detailed, accurate, and quality-results oriented
• Ability to use and read measuring instruments accurately
• Awareness of general safety principles in a Shop environment

• Ability to complete tasks working with others and independently
• Physical abilities: hearing; seeing; lifting, pushing and pulling between 50-75 pounds; crouching; bending, twisting; kneeling; squatting; walking; standing for long periods, reaching in all directions; balancing, holding, grasping, and manipulating very small objects; hand/eye coordination; use safety ladder; tolerate varying ranges of temperature in a Shop environment.

Education and Experience:

• High School/GED
• Working knowledge of Shipping, Receiving, and Warehouse standard operating procedures and the ability to apply this knowledge in a proficient and safe manner; forklift experience; 0-3 years relevant experience.

Supervision Required: Medium – Ability to work independently or with others to complete tasks on schedule.
