Shipping Specialist prepares shipping documentation and processes orders. Coordinates the preparation and organization of bills of lading, packing slips, invoices, and required export licenses or compliance documents. Being a Shipping Specialist utilizes enterprise resource planning (ERP) or other systems to record and track all shipping transactions. Troubleshoots shipping delays or changes with carriers and communicates to customers. Additionally, Shipping Specialist ensures shipping protocols and documentation meet required regulatory requirements for hazardous materials (DOT/HAZMAT) or special handling. Investigates and resolves shipping non-conformance. Requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Shipping Specialist works under moderate supervision. Duties and responsibilities
Must be able to begin work at 3:30 PM and work until end of shift (usually between midnight to 2:30 AM)
Must pass pre-employment drug screen
Ability to speak Spanish and English is a plus
Ability to load trailers according to organized route schedule
Ability to manually move and load windows up to 100 pounds.
Must be able to work overtime as needed
Ability to work with minimal supervision
Good time management and communication skills
Good attention to detail
Comply with all company policies and guidelines
Assist in keeping a safe and clean work area
Any other requirements as determined by management
