Shipping Specialist jobs in Rapid City, SD
Shipping Specialist prepares shipping documentation and processes orders. Coordinates the preparation and organization of bills of lading, packing slips, invoices, and required export licenses or compliance documents. Being a Shipping Specialist utilizes enterprise resource planning (ERP) or other systems to record and track all shipping transactions. Troubleshoots shipping delays or changes with carriers and communicates to customers. Additionally, Shipping Specialist ensures shipping protocols and documentation meet required regulatory requirements for hazardous materials (DOT/HAZMAT) or special handling. Investigates and resolves shipping non-conformance. Requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Shipping Specialist works under moderate supervision. We are currently looking for a shipping coordinator to join our manufacturing team. We are looking for someone who is detail oriented, is a problem-solver, team-player, and has a desire to learn. We are willing to teach you the details of being in shipping, so no experience required!
Essential Job Responsibilities:
- Complete scheduling and shipment processes and documentation for both domestic and international shipments
- Verify shipping methods and rates in accordance with company procedures and customer requirements
- Safely utilize material handling equipment (hand truck, pallet jack, and forklift) to load trucks and transport goods around the manufacturing and warehouse area
- Assist with Quality Control (QC), business improvement tasks, and projects
- Verify proper quality control documentation is present and complete for each shipment
- Provide back up support for receiving operations
- Other duties as assigned.
