Shipping Specialist prepares shipping documentation and processes orders. Coordinates the preparation and organization of bills of lading, packing slips, invoices, and required export licenses or compliance documents. Being a Shipping Specialist utilizes enterprise resource planning (ERP) or other systems to record and track all shipping transactions. Troubleshoots shipping delays or changes with carriers and communicates to customers. Additionally, Shipping Specialist ensures shipping protocols and documentation meet required regulatory requirements for hazardous materials (DOT/HAZMAT) or special handling. Investigates and resolves shipping non-conformance. Requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Shipping Specialist works under moderate supervision. Established in 1992, Expertech's core competencies are is newly manufactured and refurbished thermal processing systems (diffusion furnaces) for the semiconductor industry. We also provide field service, repair parts and upgrades for a wide range of thermal systems manufactured by Expertech and other OEM suppliers. All positions are in Scotts Valley.

Job Function
Under minimal supervision, candidate is responsible for the shipping, receiving, storing and distribution of materials, parts, supplies and equipment. Examines, stocks and distributes materials in inventory and to manufacturing lines. Candidate will unpack and check goods received against purchase orders or invoices and maintain records of received goods, while ensuring security and accountability of materials and goods throughout inventory control. Candidate will prepare and maintain records of merchandise shipped, both domestically and internationally. Candidate must be experienced in all aspects of international shipping. Candidate will handle point on crating of shipments and coordinate details. Candidate must be forklift certified and able to handle forklift responsibilities at factory and warehouse. Candidate will handle transportation of goods to and from our warehouse to factory, and handle deliveries of parts to and from our factory to our vendors. Candidate will be responsible for ensuring company truck and forklifts are properly maintained to schedules. Candidate must also be willing to be cross trained into other functions in the factory, as needed. The vast majority of this job is handling shipping/receiving/crating. A very minor portion is forklift/driving.
Skill Requirements
Must be able to drive a forklift, handle crating of parts and systems for domestic and international shipments, ability to lift up to 30 pounds, understanding of all material handling aspects, drive company truck safely and have good driving record, lift, bend, stoop, sit and stand on a concrete floor.
Experience Requirements
Two years shipping and forklift experience, international shipping experience is a plus.
