Description
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Supervise and participate in the daily maintenance and repair of fleet of pickups, Isuzu trucks, trucks,
heavy equipment, John Deere and Kubota tractors, small engine equipment, implements, etc.
· Work with farm Forman and Manager on seasonal schedule to ensure all equipment is maintained and operational when needed.
· Ensures all equipment is safely and properly assembled, and ready for operation in a timely manner.
· Test equipment after repairs, changeovers, or extended downtime.
· Must be able to read and interpret technical manuals.
· Use Autel diagnostic scanner.
· Be familiar with hydraulic systems.
· Be familiar with electrical systems on tractors and trucks.
· Weld equipment as needed.
· Wears personal protective equipment such as: gloves, eye protection, and respiratory equipment as needed for a particular job.
· Follow all safety rules regarding machine operation, guarding and LOTO.
· Identify any equipment problems and inform management to ensure that necessary repairs can be scheduled.
· Is responsible for taking care of maintenance areas and keeping work area in neat condition.
· Responsible for supervising maintenance personnel, equipment mechanics, and others who perform skilled maintenance, repair, and modification of plant machinery and mechanical equipment.
· Research and order parts as needed.
· Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
Experience, Education, and Licensure/Certification Requirements:
· High school diploma or equivalent.
· Proven experience as a mechanic.
· Associate degree in mechanics or engineering or relevant experience
· At least three years supervisory experience
· Valid driver’s license.
Required Skills/Abilities:
· Good communication skills
· Mechanical aptitude with strong problem-solving skills.
· Works well independently and with others.
· Use Autel diagnostic scanner or similar.
· Weld (Mig and Stick)
· Must maintain a good attitude and be professional daily.
· Be able to maintain equipment records and inventories.
· Have intermediate computer skills and experience with Microsoft office.
· Ability to understand electrical systems on farm equipment, tractors and trucks.
· Able to build and manage work schedules.
Physical Requirements:
· Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance.
· Ability to perform repetitive and physical demanding tasks for extended periods (lifting, walking, working at heights, climbing, pushing, pulling, twisting, and stooping).
· Able to bend, stretch, push, pull, and move as needed to reach, clean, and service machinery Must be able to visually inspect machines.
· Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
