Position Overview:
Reporting to the Executive Director of Enrollment, the Marketing Coordinator/Social Media Specialist plays a vital role as an Enrollment team member, actively supporting the team in the recruitment of prospective students through social media engagement, event planning, materials coordination, and recruitment tabling. This position is non-exempt from overtime under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).
The Marketing Coordinator/Social Media Specialist is charged with developing strategy and managing all SFBU social media accounts, including Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, Instagram, Pinterest, TikTok, and Facebook in partnership with the Marketing and Communications staff. This professional will use analytics and market data to inform decisions and develop a dynamic, content-focused strategy that highlights the students and resources available on campus, and advances the brand of San Francisco Bay University (SFBU) to its many audiences. The role also includes planning and developing dynamic content that includes strong photography and videography that showcases what makes SFBU a unique experience. A basic understanding of photo composition and video production is ideal.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Social Media (50%)

Create short- and long-term strategy for SFBU’s social channels, in partnership with Marketing and Communications

Monitor and respond to social conversations and comments by representing SFBU in the highest professional manner and engaging with public relations staff as needed.

Create a content calendar to proactively plan for content distribution based on enrollment priorities

Analyze content and campaigns and adjust strategy as necessary

Research social trends and advise on new social media platforms and features

Work with other staff to conceptualize campaigns and develop content to engage and inform students

Oversee student staff to assist with content curation and scheduling Marketing and Event Coordinator (40%).

In partnership with Marketing and Communications, supports the creation and distribution of promotional materials such as brochures, posters, and merchandise, ensuring proper mailing, delivery and/and storage.

Responsible for the end-to-end coordination of events, including logistics, coordination, and execution of recruitment events such as visit days, tabling at recruitment events and campus tours

Maintain college finder websites such as Niche, Appily, and Intersect institutional profiles Other Duties as assigned (10%).

Other duties may be assigned which include: calling students and guidance counselors to obtain transcripts for incomplete apps, making confirmation calls to folks scheduled to come to campus, to an event, etc., stuffing/mailing letters.
Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Media Studies, or related field

Minimum of 2 years of related experience
Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in Higher Education

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Knowledge of, and experience in Sales and/or Recruitment

Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).

Ability to write quality posts to social media accounts without supervision

Interest in visually telling stories that are dynamic and impactful

Ability to represent SFBU at recruitment events (tabling)

Ability to train SFBU Enrollment Counselors to capture social media content while recruiting

Adaptability and willingness to pivot and tackle change or challenges

Ability to work both independently and in collaboration with the Communication and Marketing team and external partners

Commitment to inclusive marketing practices and ability to work with a wide variety of colleagues and students from diverse backgrounds

Salary Range: $66,500 - $70,000
