Soft Medicine Sanctuary is a community hub in the heart of Downtown Sebastopol. We are a tea house, elixir bar, organic food cafe, event space, art hall, and even have a 1,400 sq ft studio where we hold weekly classes including yoga and meditation. Our lovely cafe is full of lush plants, nourishing food and drinks, and community events. We serve the cleanest food in town with 100% organic farm-to-table ingredients. The cafe is a bar service environment with a small prep kitchen. We really care about healthy food and staff happiness and offer awesome perks and good vibes for all that join our team.  

JOB DESCRIPTION

We are looking for part-time employees to help with our food and drink service. You are a hardworking and responsible person with flexible hours and weekend availability. Shifts are 6-7 hours. Pay is $18/hr, plus tips. We are searching for someone who is passionate about health wellness, preferably familiar with ayurveda and herbals, who enjoys food and drink service, and is a friendly and welcoming presence. Restaurant or bar experience is a must.

Responsibilities include:

* Making a variety of hot and cold drinks

* Assembling and serving food items

* Bussing tables

* Working the register/POS system

* Taking orders in person and over the phone

* Fulfilling to-go orders

* Providing quick and friendly service to all customers

* Helping customers with menu choices and providing health benefit information of the items

* Maintaining a clean and organized environment

Qualifications:

* Restaurant, hospitality, food service, or customer service experience required.

* Food Handlers Certification required

* Knowledge of nutrition, ayurveda, herbalism preferred.

* Punctual, reliable, and responsible

* Strong customer service skills and communication skills

* Community Health experience, trauma-informed with a positive, can-do attitude

* A team player, conscientious.  

* Able to keep things looking clean and tidy, organized with an attention to detail.

* Fast learner, proactive, has a strong work ethic.

* Able to work on your feet for 6-8 hours and lift 30 pounds.
