We are seeking to fill a Senior Electrical position which contains both a software and a hardware component located in or within driving distance of Baton Rouge, LA. This role is hybrid and will require onsite visits several times a month or as needed. 

Responsibilities

• Develop, upgrade and maintain our firmware for our contextual aware beacon in embedded C for bare metal applications.
• Develop scripts and software tools to facilitate automated troubleshooting and provide answers to internal teams (e.g., support).
• Architect, build and maintain testing environment to increase reliability of products.
• Experience in reverse engineering to help troubleshoot hardware and software applications.
• Provides an engineering analysis and resolution for issues escalated by the support team. 
• Evaluate electrical systems, products, components, and applications by designing and conducting research programs by applying knowledge of electrical engineering  and materials.
• Develop programming jigs to automate loading and testing our firmware.
• Work closely with Software Engineering teams  to resolve technical issues.
• Prioritize and work independently on several projects with minimal oversight.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 3 - 6 years of experience working in embedded systems.
• Excellent knowledge and proven experience developing firmware in embedded C.
• High-level experience with ARM microcontrollers.
• Experience developing applications/tools in Python or a high level/scripting language.
• Familiarity with embedded hardware design and low-level communication protocols (eg. SPI, I2C, UART).
• Fluent in the English language with good communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Working knowledge of Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE).
• Experience researching hardware components to guarantee lifecycle of product.
• Experience reading and understanding basic circuit schematics.
• Experience developing in a team environments using source control (e.g., git) and issues trackers (e.g., JIRA) 
• Working knowledge of SQL and AWS is a plus.
