Soil Conservationist develops and implements policies and procedures for soil erosion control, moisture conservation, and sound land use. Conducts and participates in environmental studies. Being a Soil Conservationist applies a wide range concepts, practices, and procedures from two or more specialized fields of science, such as agronomy, soil science, forestry, or agriculture. May require a bachelor's degree in agricultural sciences or a related field with at least 5 years of work experience. Additionally, Soil Conservationist may direct the work of a small group of employees. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. The Soil Research Technician position will work mainly on R.A.N.C.H. (Regenerative Agriculture, Nutrition, Climate, and Health) research projects associated with various soil health parameters, located at the Rodale Institute – Ancient Nutrition sites (3480 Summertown Hwy, Summertown, TN 38483 and 5940 County Road 333, Koshkonong, MO 65692). Research projects at Rodale Institute include applied and practical projects in regenerative organic agriculture, soil health, water quality, climate change mitigation, and the linkages between healthy soil and healthy people.
