Being a Soil Scientist may require a bachelor's degree in agricultural sciences or a related field with at least 5 years of work experience. May direct the work of a small group of employees. Kellogg Garden Products, a family-owned and operated organic soil company in business for 95 years, is seeking a seasonal Advocate. This position is responsible for building consumer loyalty. You will assist consumers in selecting Kellogg branded products appropriate to their project needs through asking questions and active listening; educating and recommending the benefits of Kellogg branded products.
You will be stationed in the garden center at store locations with the objective of selling customers Kellogg branded products during peak hours on weekend days, typically 4 hours on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

· How to sell in a consultative approach
Main Objective:
Increase sales of Kellogg branded products through in store selling and merchandising.
Job Requirement Skills:
· OUTGOING PERSONALITY. You will be approaching customers to assist them in their selection of soil amendments and potting mixes. Your goal is to increase sales of Kellogg branded products.
· A GOOD LISTENER. You will qualify the customer by asking key questions and listening to their project needs; you will then lead them to the appropriate product to suit their project.
· KNOWLEDGEABLE. You will provide explanations that clearly demonstrate the value of Kellogg branded products. (Training and tools will be provided). Through your knowledge, you will encourage the customer to purchase Kellogg branded products.
· FRIENDLY. Your attitude and demeanor are key to your approachability. Your enthusiasm for Kellogg branded products will transfer to the customer. This is a fun job!
· COMMITTED. The hours of the advocate position takesplace Friday, Saturday and Sunday, as weather permits. Your supervisor and the stores you are assigned to count on you to be there and to increase sales! Working this schedule every week for the duration of this program, is mandatory.
· Physically able. All advocates must be able to lift bags and boxes weighing 50 lbs. or more.
· REQUIRED EXPERIENCE. High school diploma or GED.
The Kellogg Garden Product’s Advocate has the opportunity to make a real difference in a customer’s day. The advocate position is essential in maintaining and driving Kellogg branded products through the store.
