Being a Soil Scientist may require a bachelor's degree in agricultural sciences or a related field with at least 5 years of work experience. May direct the work of a small group of employees. Mid-sized environmental services and consulting company looking to hire an entry-level Environmental Technician. Candidate must have a valid driver license and be able to pass a driving record/criminal background check. The position will entail performing manual labor, outdoors, in all weather conditions while conducting environmental investigations and remediations. Candidate must be physically fit, hardworking, and have the ability to lift 80lbs repeatedly. Applicants with experience or education in the environmental field will be given preference although no previous experience is necessary.
Our work consists of site characterization and remediation processes in a variety of situations, specializing in Underground Storage Tank decommissions and site assessments. Duties will include everything from Soil Sampling, Groundwater Sampling and Soil Vapor Sampling, to working with an excavation crew, to digging holes with shovels and pushing wheelbarrows. This position is a great opportunity to gain experience in the environmental services and consulting field.
This position is a full-time position. The work schedule will be Monday-Friday from approximately 7:30am-5:30pm. We are looking for someone who is a self-starter and willing to help out in any number of tasks.
