Valiant is in search of a humanitarian assistance and civil-military coordination subject matter expert with broad disaster operational coordination in both natural disasters and conflict settings. The applicant will deliver high-quality training instruction and presentations to military and civilian organizations. This will include presenting modules for both the Humanitarian Assistance Response Training (HART) Disaster and Conflict courses. Both are operational-level training courses focused on applying the military planning and decision–making process to the unique humanitarian circumstances during both Foreign Humanitarian Assistance (FHA) operations following natural disasters and dealing with civilian impacts during conflict.
The position requires development and presentation of modules, case studies, small group practical applications, and role-playing exercises that enhance lectures by civilian and military subject matter experts. The applicant will also assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of CFE-DM’s support to multinational military exercises and civil-military security cooperation workshops when needed. Program activities will include conducting civil-military training courses, multinational and bilateral conferences, workshops, and exercises. The position requires the applicant to have awareness, understanding, and skills that help DoD, partner militaries, interagency, and international organizations plan for and execute foreign disaster response (FDR) missions.
