JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Participate as a member of the multidisciplinary evaluation team to determine whether or not a student qualifies for services under Article 7, Deaf or Hard of Hearing.
• Review evaluations conducted by the Audiologist to determine educational needs.
• Conduct Initial evaluations and reevaluations.
• Serve as TOR for all case conferences when the student’s primary area of eligibility is Deaf or Hard of Hearing.
• Develop compliant IEPs for all students eligible for services.
• Monitor the goals within the Individualized Education Plan (IEP).
• Participate in case conferences of students who attend the Indiana School for the Deaf.
• Consult with teachers and school staff within the six school corporations of SCASEC regarding student needs to ensure that supplementary aids and services and any needed program modifications are provided in accordance with each student’s IEP or Service Plan.
• Provide services as outlined in the student’s IEP.
• Provide IEPs at a Glance to all staff working with students and be available for consultation as needed.
• Provide direction, supervision of and evaluative feedback to the interpreters working with the students.
• Determine need for any required equipment or technology required by students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing in order to access general education curriculum / environment.
• Teach school staff how to monitor the use of individual student technology.
• Troubleshoot if technology malfunctions.
• Maintain contact and communication with parents.
• Attend workshops and trainings in the field of hearing impairment.
