Position Purpose: 

The purpose of the Events Coordinator role at Journey Church is to serve by leading the organization and implementation of successful Events while maintaining the culture of excellence in order to promote Journey’s mission to see people live transformed lives to live and love like Jesus.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead in the ideation, planning, recruiting, execution and implementation of assigned Journey Events.
• Lead and manage the event volunteers in the execution of their responsibilities.
• Clearly communicate vision and expectations to all staff invovled, directly and indirectly, for all assigned events.
• Oversee the scheduling of all events on the Church’s internal master calendar.
• Work closely with the Campus Pastors and Associate Campus Pastors in the approval of on-site non-Journey event requests.
• Schedule and lead debriefs following each event to identify improvement opportunities.
• Assist in the development and management of the budget for each assigned event.
• Seeks opportunities to reduce costs by developing relationships with local vendors to obtain the best rates.
• Ensure that the culture of excellence is maintained within the events team (staff and volunteers) and at each event.
• Provide direction and ensure leadership development is occurring within the events team (staff and volunteers).
• Participate in leadership meetings with event staff and volunteers..
• Actively seeks opportunities to improve each event and service.
• Prepares in advance for events to include the ordering of materials needed for those events.
• Able to delegate responsibilities and tasks to different teams and staff members.
• Provides support (or direction) to other teams and departments as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Sunday Responsibilities:

• Identify and recruit members for volunteer roles.
• Act as a floater to fill areas lacking volunteer member assignment.
• Assist Campus Pastor at assigned campus as needed.

Qualifications / Experience: 

• Minimum of three years experience in Event management.
• Excellent interpsoanl, verbal and written communication skills. 
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Successfully maintain event budgets.
• Profecient with Google Suite, Microsoft Suite and Planning Center Online.   
• Able to multi-task and coordinate simultaneous projects and events. 
• Ability to work well under pressure and against deadlines.
• Flexibility, focus, and a strong work ethic are essential.
• Tasks assigned may require walking, bending, pushing, pulling, reaching and lifting of items up to 25 pounds throughout an assigned shifts.

• This role is responsible for the supervision of the Events Volunteer Teams
