Special Events Management is a 35-year-old company that focuses on live outdoor events including festivals, running & walking events, parades, and corporate events. Most of our events are in the Chicagoland area, however, we have a small office in Colorado that focuses on nationally produced endurance events with an emphasis on the West coast.
We are currently seeking a full-time Event Coordinator based on experience. The ideal candidate will have Event Management experience, lead/manage up to 10 projects annually. Work other events in key roles supporting other team members. The events are a combination between endurance sports (run/walks with a specialty in marathons and triathlons) and management of festivals that range from fine arts, music festivals and tasting events; parades; and other outdoor special events. Most events are client-based and require excellent communication skills with either committee members and or assigned client liaison overseeing the project.
Coordinator will represent the company and its clients to oversee all aspects of planning, logistics and implementation while working with other team members or departments that include sponsorship, vendor and exhibit relations, public relations, marketing, accounting and graphic design.
The coordinator will implement the overall plans into the execution of on-site operations of an event. The candidate will be responsible for making key decisions and executing the implementation and operations of the event.
