Homelessness is the largest social and public health crisis in California. Illumination Foundation (IF) is a growing non-profit organization dedicated towards disrupting the cycle of homelessness by providing targeted, interdisciplinary services in our recuperative care centers, emergency shelters, housing services and children’s and family programs. IF currently has 13 facilities with 22 micro-communities scattered across Orange County, Los Angeles County and the Inland Empire.
Job Description
The Senior Events Manager expertly leads event management, planning, and execution in coordination with the marketing and development teams. Events will encompass internal events, fundraisers, the annual gala, recognition events, and future initiatives. Will require some travel to off-site locations and occasional evenings/weekends as needed. Illumination Foundation events strive to educate, advocate, increase awareness, and fundraise toward the foundation’s mission.
The salary range for this position is $70,000 - $85,000 per annum, depending on experience.
Responsibilities
Primary Duties:- Organize, plan, and execute all Illumination Foundation internal and external events and galas.
- Implement vision of event stakeholders and leadership team.
- Assist with site/vendor selection and contract negotiation, RFP coordination, and management of production timelines.
- Manage budgets, coordinate logistics, maintain rental/supply orders, manage vendor invoices/payments, manage room blocks, etc.
- Develop effective and collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders, participating in discovery meetings to understand the intended vision and objectives of each event, suggesting solutions accordingly.
- Lead communications with vendors, partners, and suppliers to ensure the vision of each event is executed as intended and within budget - tracking orders and ensuring production timelines are followed as needed.
- Assist with leading the Marketing & Development teams and volunteers through the elements of event coordination and planning for larger events.
- For larger events, provide day-of event management and oversight, including supervising on-site logistics, vendor management, supplier execution, etc.
- Provide planning and execution support and/or oversight for small-to-medium events, including executive initiatives, internal staff events, donor/volunteer appreciation events, etc.
- Occasionally represent Illumination Foundation at community and volunteer events as needed to support the efforts of the Marketing & Community Engagement team.
- Cultivate and build relationships with Directors, Managers, and site staff to ensure effective execution of site initiatives/events.
- Update job knowledge by participating in continuing educational opportunities.
- Create a system to organize event information

Preferred Experience/Minimum Qualifications
Required:- Must demonstrate a strong commitment to Illumination Foundation’s mission and core values
- Minimum 3-4 years of event-related experience.
- Bachelor’s Degree required.
- Intermediate level of computer systems such as Microsoft Office Suite and Google programs
- Demonstrated project management experience
- Ability to multi-task and adapt to changing priorities and duties
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Must have a valid driver’s license and a good driving record
- Must be willing to work occasional evenings and weekends
Preferred:- Direct event management experience preferred
- Preferred degree in marketing, business, hospitality, or related area of study
