Daytona International Speedway is the home of "The Great American Race" - the DAYTONA 500. Though the prestigious season-opening NASCAR Cup Series event garners most of the attention - as well as the largest audience in motorsports - the approximately 500-acre motorsports complex boasts the most diverse schedule of racing on the globe, thus earning it the title of "World Center of Racing." Among the nine major weekends of racing activity are the Rolex 24 At DAYTONA, the DAYTONA Supercross, the DAYTONA 200 motorcycle classic and the Coke Zero Sugar 400. Rarely a week goes by that the Speedway grounds are not used for events that include track tours, concerts, civic and social gatherings, car shows, photo shoots, production vehicle testing and police motorcycle training.

    NASCAR seeks a talented professional to join in the position of Director, Hospitality & Special Events based in our Daytona Beach, FL office.

    This person is responsible for leading and supporting the Hospitality & Special Events team within NASCAR's Southeast Region of racetrack properties (Daytona International Speedway, Homestead-Miami Speedway, and Talladega Superspeedway).

    Duties include but are not limited to:

    • This position will touch all aspects of private events and race time hospitality including contracts, design set-up, and direct involvement with vendors, set-up, crews and catering to ensure a positive experience for our clients and their guests.
    • This person must be extremely detailed oriented with a strong willingness to lead and a desire to work in a fast-paced team environment.
    • The ideal candidate for this role must be able to think strategically and creatively, balance multiple responsibilities and easily collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
    • Collaborate and lead team on daily priorities and first-class focus on new and existing customers/corporate clients.
    • Plan and attend Special Events to ensure client satisfaction and build event summaries for all events hosted which will capture client feedback, any issues encountered during the event, room layouts, photos, notes etc.
    • Write and manage Special Event Contracts through execution phase with team members.
    • Main liaison to Levy Catering staff on menu, set up & execution for special events & race day hospitality (Suites, Clubs, etc.)
    • Create and distribute Special Event Memo's internally to DIS Stakeholders.
    • Maintain and manage two (2) special event & hospitality set up crews.
    • Maintain and manage two (2) special event calendars (Sharepoint & ABI)
    • Interview, Hire and Train Seasonal Hospitality Staff for SE Region of NASCAR
    • Create Fan Hospitality race day schedules for staffing.
    • Create/purchase/order all aspects of Fan hospitality for SE Region of NASCAR
    • Work closely with Southeast Region of NASCAR, Client Services team during NASCAR Race Season specifically in hospitality club areas, Corporate Suite Concierge and Loge Box Concierge staff.
    • Coordinate Fan & Corporate Hospitality for SE Region of NASCAR.
    • Create & maintain Special events Revenue & Expense budget.
    • Create & maintain Fan Hospitality expense budget for SE Region of NASCAR.
    • Travel: 20% including weekends to Talladega Superspeedway and Homestead-Miami Speedway.

    Required skills / experience:

    • Associate or Bachelor's Degree required preferably with a focus in hospitality/event management.
    • Minimum of 5 years experience in the hospitality industry leading a team preferred; direct experience with hospitality related to sporting events is a significant plus.
    • Excellent relationship building and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact comfortably and effectively with internal and external clients at all levels of the applicable organizations.
    • Highly self-motivated with a strong work ethic, results oriented and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and think independently at times.
    • Ability to work through problem solving and think strategically is a must.
    • Self-starter who takes initiative and can take a project from conception to completion.
    • Detail-oriented and organized with outstanding communication skills.
    • Ability to multi-task; you will be working across a number of activities with tight deadlines.
    • Must be able to work evenings and weekends, as required.
