    With a focus on our current growth we have an opening for a Project Manager of Special Projects to join our Sales Team.

    ## Overview

    In this role, the Project Manager is responsible for achieving the sales objectives for Architectural Products of Virginia (APV). The Project Manager is part of the sales organization and is responsible for establishing and maintaining a professional business relationship with existing and prospective contractor customers along with growing the business with each customer until APV becomes their preferred supplier.     ## Duties

    • Maintaining existing customers’ accounts and developing new business for APV.
    • Interpreting the sales goals and objectives established by the Sales Manager and assuring that these objectives are used as guidelines for the day-to-day sales activities of the business.
    • Representing the company to customers, architects, vendors, and in all other areas that impact the business
    • Preparing estimates and quotations according to established guidelines.
    • Aggressively following up proposals and sales leads including outside sales calls.
    • Managing special projects including preparation of submittals, assisting with purchasing, and shipping of materials, and communicating with customers to assure accurate and timely delivery.
    • To offer and accept orders for products and services offered by APV at prices established by company policy.
    • To actively call on existing and new customers.
    • To communicate with customers to coordinate accurate and timely delivery of material.
    • To assist the accounting department in the collection of accounts receivable from accounts as requested.
    • Generate sales that meet the company’s margin objectives through the identification and conversion of leads, referrals, quote requests, information services like Dodge and CMD, and add-on opportunities.
    • Work with the Sales Manager to develop the annual budget for sales and gross margin for the assigned territory and accounts and for the development of new business.
    • Implement and coordinate the goals, budgets, and objectives for success in the daily operation of the sales process for projects and accounts assigned.
    • Cooperate with Purchasing, Shop, and Warehouse to provide all required documentation and other communication necessary to insure the timely and accurate completion of orders.
    • Ensure the adequacy of lead times and the quality of communications to ensure that workflows are properly controlled and planned throughout the sales process.
    • Utilize sales reporting and planning tools developed to manage time and sales effort including weekly activity reports properly and efficiently.
    • Solicit specification preparation that will promote sales and increased profit opportunities.
    • Provide the critical interface between customers, personnel, and other APV employees involved. Represent APV as a reliable, innovative supplier of high-quality innovative doors, frames, and hardware.
    • Maintain a presence in the field with new and existing clients in support of the sales process and customer development effort. Use this to cultivate follow-on and referral business.
    • Maintain and improve gross margins on existing and new projects by delivering performance measured in terms of gross margin, on-time delivery, quality service and customer satisfaction.
    • Establish and maintain high level of communications between the customer and the in-house team to ensure quality service and response to customers’ needs and inquiries.
    • Communicate operating issues, plans, goals, and results to the Sales Manager.
    • Elicit customer feedback on satisfaction and customer future needs.

    ## Experience

    • A Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field is preferred.
    • 3 years of sales experience.
    • 5 years of experience with door and hardware distributor.
    • Any appropriate and effective combination of any of the above.
    • Comfortable with use of technology, with good computer and mobile skills and the ability to embrace and adapt to changes to technology that is critical to how we work.

    Pay: Commensurate with experience
