Specialty Pharmacy Technician assists a registered pharmacist with support activities and processes required to dispense high dollar/specialty medications (e.g. Oncology, Multiple Sclerosis). Collects, inputs, and verifies prescription, refill, and patient information. Being a Specialty Pharmacy Technician receives and stocks incoming supplies. May be expected to perform some clerical duties relating to the department. Additionally, Specialty Pharmacy Technician requires a high school diploma. May require Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT). Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Specialty Pharmacy Technician works under moderate supervision. Central Input Pharmacy Technician (TX)
Reports to: Central Input Staff Pharmacist
As the gatekeeper of the Big Country Proven Process, you are the point of entry for every Big Country Dermatology Pharmacy prescription. Your first priority is preventing a bottleneck of inbound prescriptions by streamlining input across all Big Country locations. Like a surgeon, you are laser focused on accuracy and attention to detail. You have developed a strong understanding of our drug formulary and insurance/rebates process resulting in minimal errors.
