Specialty Pharmacy Technician assists a registered pharmacist with support activities and processes required to dispense high dollar/specialty medications (e.g. Oncology, Multiple Sclerosis). Collects, inputs, and verifies prescription, refill, and patient information. Being a Specialty Pharmacy Technician receives and stocks incoming supplies. May be expected to perform some clerical duties relating to the department. Additionally, Specialty Pharmacy Technician requires a high school diploma. May require Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT). Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Specialty Pharmacy Technician works under moderate supervision. Our pharmacy is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to assist the Pharmacist with prescription management and communicating with physicians’ offices about patient medications. The successful candidate for this role will communicate with patients over the phone and in-store to address customer service issues and field questions about medications. Additionally, our Pharmacy Technicians are responsible for confirming patient information on prescription labels before disbursing medications.
