Specialty Pharmacy Technician jobs in Houston, TX

Summary: Assists pharmacist by preparing medication orders under the direction of the pharmacist, ensuring prescriptions are processed in a timely manner, and ensuring patients are kept informed of the process by performing the following duties.

Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

· Submits prescriptions to insurance companies by entering into system for verification by the pharmacist.

· Resolves problems associated with patients and doctors’ order.

· Works with insurance companies to resolve rejections.

· Performs various administrative tasks.

· Performs other related duties as assigned.

· Must have experience working in a retail pharmacy setting.

Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform essential technician duties. Excellent communication skills and service. Proficient in sig codes and processing prescriptions to insurance carriers and how to resolve TPRs. Bilingual (English and Spanish) and working with Pioneer pharmacy system is a plus.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $19.00 per hour
