Designs policies and processes to ensure efficient service delivery and promote best practices. Being an Speech and Language Pathology Director develops and implements long-term strategic plans and objectives for audiology and speech therapy programs in alignment with the organization's overall objectives. Provides leadership and oversight to the development and expansion of programs or service offerings. Additionally, Speech and Language Pathology Director evaluates program design, assessment tools, and treatment protocols and researches advancements in the field. Develops and manages the budget to allocate resources to support staffing, equipment, and other program needs. Monitors operational and financial metrics to measure the achievement of organizational objectives. Negotiates and selects vendor proposals and manages vendors to maintain inventories and adhere to budgets. May require a master's degree in audiology or speech pathology. St. Charles Habilitation Center currently has an opening for full time Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant. This position is benefits eligible and will work Monday through Friday, with Saturday, Sunday, and Holidays off. The position work schedule will be between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. as well as having flexibility to meet consumer’s needs.
JOB DUTIES
This is a licensed professional position accountable for helping in the evaluation and treatment of communication disorders. Employees assist in the development and implementation of treatment plans through evaluating patients, recommending or administering therapy, preparing case histories, documenting progress notes, and assisting families and teachers of individuals with speech and hearing problems. Works under the direction and supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist with periodic review of work methods, reports, and processes.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
Knowledge of the various types of speech, language, and hearing disorders. Knowledge of the normal development of speech, language and hearing abilities; and the effect of degenerative processes. Ability to prepare case histories, progress reports, and recommendations. Ability to develop, implement, and evaluate a basic therapy plan.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
Licensure as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant.
DMH employees who have had a disciplinary action within the past 12 months will not be considered.
