Speech and Language Therapy Supervisor manages the daily operations of an organization's audiology and speech therapy functions. Plans and develops speech therapy programs and evaluates program objectives and results to determine effectiveness. Being an Speech and Language Therapy Supervisor reviews assessment findings, treatment plans, and progress notes to ensure compliance with professional standards and regulations. Monitors inventories and supplies and tracks spending to ensure adherence to departmental budgets. Additionally, Speech and Language Therapy Supervisor implements operational procedures to ensure effective care, promote best practices, and facilitate efficient workflow. Provides professional guidance and oversight to resolve complex cases or issues. Recruits, hires, and manages staff and designs and leads development and training activities. May require a master's degree in audiology or speech pathology. Requires State License based on Clinical Specialty. Typically reports to a director. The Speech and Language Therapy Supervisor manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be an Speech and Language Therapy Supervisor typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required. This position will be primarily IN-HOME therapy for pediatrics, as feeding interventions can be integrated into a family's life most efficiently and effectively when the treatment occurs in the home :)

    JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Conduct assessments, provide feeding support services and consult with family members and other professionals working with the family.
    • Develop treatment plans and goals for reaching each client's specific goals.
    • Coach family members and caregivers on intervention strategies to facilitate active involvement and carry-over at both home and in community settings.
    • Ensure clients/caregivers are active participants in intervention through clear and consistent communication regarding expectations and generalization strategies.
    • Complete documentation with necessary detail promptly and consistently.
    • Complete progress reports.
    • Maintain confidentiality of information regarding clients and families (in accordance with HIPAA and/or State/Federal regulations).

    REQUIREMENTS:

    • AK Speech-Language Pathology License
    • Master's Degree (M.A. or M.S.) from an accredited Speech-Language Pathology program
    • Strong Clinical and Interpersonal Skills
    • Excellent Written and Oral Communication Skills
    • Valid Driver's License
    • Personal means of transportation
