Staff Nurse - RN - Cardiac Catherization provides professional nursing care to assigned patients in the coronary care unit by providing quality care to heart disease and heart attack patients and families. Performs diagnostic evaluations of the arteries of the heart and identifies blockages. Being a Staff Nurse - RN - Cardiac Catherization assists physician during procedures. Administers medications and develops patient care plans in conjunction with other medical professionals. Additionally, Staff Nurse - RN - Cardiac Catherization monitors patient's status before, during, and after procedures. Observes patients' progress, records observations in patient medical record, and updates attending physician directly when necessary. Educates patients and families about the patients illness and treatment plan. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Requires Registered Nurse (RN). Requires Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS). Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Staff Nurse - RN - Cardiac Catherization's years of experience requirement may be unspecified.
