Staff Nurse - RN - Geriatric provides professional nursing care to assigned geriatric patients. Records patient histories, performs various diagnostic tests, administers medications, and develops geriatric care plans in conjunction with other medical professionals. Being a Staff Nurse - RN - Geriatric assists physicians during examinations and procedures, operating and monitoring medical equipment as necessary. Observes patients' progress and records observations in patient medical records. Additionally, Staff Nurse - RN - Geriatric promotes patients' independence by teaching patients and families to understand conditions, medications, and self-care skills. Typically requires a bachelor's degree in nursing.Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Requires a valid state RN license.     Focus Staff is seeking a traveling OR RN to work as an Operating room nurse (or perioperative nurse) to assist surgeons during operations and keep the operating room sterile at all times.

    Contract Assignment - 13 Weeks (Temporary/Travel/Contract)
    Shift: 3x12 Days

    Requirements:
    • Proven experience as operating room nurse (circulating and scrub)
    • Excellent knowledge of aseptic and sterile techniques
    • Solid understanding of patient safety and precautions
    • In-depth knowledge of surgical operation procedures
    • AHA Current Basic Life Support certification for Health Care Providers.

    • Assess patients prior to surgery (e.g. NPO status) and alleviate their concerns
    • Monitor patient’s vital signs to detect anomalies

    • Evaluate patient in postoperative phases
    • Pass medical instruments or other objects to the surgeon during operation
    Work Experience: At least 2 years of OR experience
