Staff Nurse - RN - Hospice provides professional nursing care to assigned terminally ill patients in a hospice environment. Records patient histories, performs various diagnostic tests, administers medications, and develops patient care plans in conjunction with other medical professionals. Being a Staff Nurse - RN - Hospice performs examinations and prescribed procedures, operating and monitoring medical equipment as necessary. Observes patients' condition and records observations in patient medical records. Additionally, Staff Nurse - RN - Hospice typically requires a bachelor's degree in nursing. The Staff Nurse provides skilled nursing care to individuals and families in the inpatient center, based on an ongoing nursing assessment of need. The Staff Nurse plans, implements, and evaluates nursing care through systematic assessment of health needs and optimum utilization of personnel. Is available on standby during on-call hours as scheduled. Duties Include:

PROFESSIONAL: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing and current licensure in the state of Kentucky and Ohio. At least one year of experience in a patient care position in a hospital, nursing home, or related health care facility with demonstrated knowledge of nursing home rules and regulations preferred.
PERSONAL: Personal qualities of empathy, responsibility, dependability and intelligence. Must demonstrate effective communication skills with team members, clients, and family members. Must have ability to work independent of direct on-site supervision. demonstrates leadership and teach ability.
PHYSICAL JOB: Must arrange travel and be able to access client homes independently. Must demonstrate proper use of personal protective equipment and observe universal precautions. Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds using proper body mechanics. Must carry state minimum in automobile liability insurance.
