Our FMP Writer will meet with landowners and discuss the landowners' goals for their property, and will advise them on how to meet these goals. They will then inventory their wooded property and prepare a detailed forest management plan for them.

The FMP Writer must have a solid foundation in forestry best practices, timber values, invasive species control, and timber stand improvement, along with knowledge on herbaceous species.

Computer skills in Word and Excel are critical. Physical fitness is imperative as well, as you will be walking many acres of woods each day, followed by days in the office to prepare the plan. The FMP Writer must be self-motivated and able to work unsupervised, and to meet tight deadlines to complete the FMP for the client in a timely manner.

The FMP Writer will provide their own transportation to and from the field.

A bachelor's degree in forestry, or closely related field, is required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
