The Strategic Sourcing Manager’s primary responsibility is to plan, organize, lead, and control
purchasing related functions of sourcing, pricing, quality, and timing of goods and services needed for manufacturing
parts and equipment.
MAJOR DUTIES:
• Work closely with Engineering, Sales, & Production to proactively plan timely purchasing of parts and services.
• Provide leadership and direction to Buyers on managing vendor performance, leveraging consolidated sourcing
and pricing, controlling SKU quantities, and planning lead times.
• Works collaboratively with engineering, planning and production department to develop and oversee the
company’s overall spend reduction strategies
• Supervisory responsibilities included but not limited to training and development, delegation and follow up,
succession planning, and performance management of direct reports; Cascades leadership skills and
responsibilities to direct reports that are also people managers.
• Deliver key departmental objectives in alignment with strategic organizational goals including but not limited to
materials and overhead cost reduction, inventory turns, and component availability.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
A Bachelor’s Degree in business administration or a related field is required. A minimum of five to eight years’
experience is also required. Individual should have a thorough knowledge of purchasing procedures and techniques.
Professional purchasing certification is desirable.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Some bending and twisting is required. Routine duties will occasionally require lifting approximately 10-20 pounds (and
periodically heavier loads.
