Strategic Support Manager

  • The Department of Family and Community Medicine seeks a Strategic Support Manager (1.0 FTE). This position will work with the ADOBE (Averting Disparities in Outcomes by Building Engagement) Program. The ADOBE Program was established in 2017 and is the University of New Mexico's program to identify and construct resilience among individuals and communities confronting justice and health disparities at the crossroads of medicine and law.

    This position oversees the growth of ADOBE Program while maintaining fidelity to patient population and goal of strength and resiliency-based models through team building, hiring, and oversight of training for appropriate personnel.  In addition, oversee the billing and collection of Medicaid payments.

    Serves as a principal point of collaboration, leadership, and expertise to internal and external constituencies on professional and operational matters pertaining to the mission, goals, objectives, and work scope of ADOBE, including but not limited to: multiple UNM HSC departments, NM HSD, CYFD, APS, and other grant funders.

    This position requires both insight into existing ADOBE, community, and current health system service provision models, as well as innovative approaches to solving current health service provision gaps.

    This position requires comfort with presenting to a diverse audience, from community partners to the legislature. Ability to interface seamlessly with officials in the Juvenile and Young Adult Court systems, the District Attorney’s Office, Human Services Department of New Mexico, officials in Bernalillo County Behavioral Health, Albuquerque Public School system, the New Mexico Department of Health, UNM Hospital, UNM Medical Group is a must.

    Duties include:

    • Run weekly ADOBE team meetings and quarterly ADOBE Advisory Board Meetings, collaborates to set agendas, and collaborates to enact appropriate advice.
    • Ability to identify and solicit local and state funding sources for services and programs, and provides leadership in planning, development, and implementation of strategies and initiatives for generating program resources is important.
    • Responsible for billing mechanisms and attending to logistics (including but not limited to identifying clinical and administrative space as team expands) within the ADOBE Program to receive bundled Medicaid reimbursement to set up an innovative solution toward sustainability for wrap-around services for high-risk families.
    • Establishing and implementing short- and long-range goals for ADOBE clinical program expansions, including major research grant endeavors (NIH and others); developing and implementing objectives, policies, and operating procedures surrounding ADOBE programmatic vision; monitoring and evaluating operational effectiveness and effects changes required for improvement for ADOBE.
    • Ability to oversee a team of administrators, case managers, primary care physicians and advanced practice providers, psychiatrists, therapists, and legal aids.
    • Oversees organization budgets and financial projections for both internal funding as well as all grant funds.
    • Manage organization direction including development, research, and clinical activities.
    • Leads process improvement, quality improvement tasks and ensures compliance for the department.
    • Manages HR components of recruiting, hiring, retention and performance management for all staff.
    • Requirements include appropriate hiring of required personnel with expertise in budget management, constructing budgets for upcoming projects, and serving as the primary managerial point of contact.
