Hyundai America Technical Center, Inc. (HATCI) is seeking a R&D Sourcing and Procurement Associate that is accountable for the sourcing, procurement, and selection process to support the R&D projects at New Horizons Studio at our Sunnyvale, CA location.
This role will work with other members of New Horizons Studio to create a sourcing strategy and to drive budget execution. This role will work in close alignment with global and regional finance and purchasing to facilitate the procurement process. The R&D Sourcing and Procurement Associate Manager will report to the Chief of Staff who has overall responsibility for the administration and operations of New Horizons Studio. This position has responsibility to manage multiple sites; but the role could be based in the San Francisco Bay Area, Boston (MA), or Bozeman (MT).
- Be the team's resource for managing the vendor selection process by learning and fully understanding HATCI Purchasing's guidelines.
- Create and maintain a master schedule for sourcing, purchasing, and budget execution tasks for all technology development projects.

Understand the team's technology development goals and outsourcing needs; support the search for new suppliers/vendors/partners by understanding and assessing how their products or services are appropriate relative to the team's goals in terms of schedule, cost, and quality.
- Review suppliers with NHS members and HATCI Purchasing and execute the registration process for selected suppliers as vendors into HATCI’s SAP system.

Manage the RFQ-PR-PO administration to ensure product or service can be purchased at targeted project timeline.

Support the purchasing of any item under the fixed asset budget category and track all NHS’ fixed assets to monitor equipment, assess their condition, keep them in good working order, and report to HATCI Finance for audit purposes.

As needed prepare, solicit, and evaluate competitive bids, quotations, and proposals. Ensure that quotations and proposals are consistent with the project schedule and objectives.

Responsible for managing the reconciling of all expenditures charged on the company credit card.

Work closely with NHS team members, R&D Division and HATCI Finance and Purchasing to ensure timeliness and accuracy of budget utilization and purchasing status reports.

Process travel expense reports for direct manager, and team members who are at Director level and above.

Up to 10% domestic and international travel.
Required Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in a field of engineering, science, or business.

3 years of experience in procurement and sourcing in an R&D or production operation.

Preferred Qualifications
