    Salary: 

    $18.00- $19.00/hourly 


    SUMMARY

    These positions are responsible for assembling a variety of subassemblies and/or finished products for the Tool, Head and General Purpose Machine departments. Additional responsibilities include, functional tests to meet specifications, quality checks, and on time deliveries. They report directly to the Production Manager.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    Essential Functions:

    Level I

    • Able to work from verbal instructions, work instructions when available and production boards.
    • Assemble a variety of subassemblies and finished products.
    • Lubricate align and adjust assemblies for proper operation.
    • Perform operating tests per product checklists.
    • Use feeler gauges, common hand tools (manual, air driven & battery), arbor presses and hand trucks.
    • Prevent scrap and rework.
    • Build products to the established standard.
    • Proactive in identifying and communicating simplification methods and potential cost reductions.
    • Seeks out new challenges.
    • Immediately report any tools or machinery which is not operation properly to Team Lead or Manager.
    • Communicates effectively.
    • Demonstrates cooperation and collaboration while working toward team success.
    • Has the ability to work both independently and with others.
    • Diversified work requires considerable judgement, initiative and effective decision making in the midst of change.
    • Participate in group, department and safety meetings.
    • Customer orientated and works to exceed customer expectations.
    • Maintains a safe, clean and organized work environment, including the use and implementation of 5S.
    • Reports to work regularly and on time.
    • Package, add auxiliary components and documents in carton.
    • Record production data daily.
    • Assist in the training of less qualified employees.
    • Must follow SIG’s Cardinal Rules.

    Level II

    • All of the above for Level I
    • Able to read blueprints and shop drawings.
    • Basic understanding part/product specifications and tolerances.
    • Cross train on multiple product offerings.
    • Volunteer in group, department and safety meetings.
    • Assist in training and mentoring less experienced employees.
    • Take a leadership role related to safety observations, JSA’s, work instructions and reporting.

    Level III

    • All of the above for Levels I and II
    • Diagnose and troubleshoot issues related to functionality and testing of products.
    • Electrical experience to include basic PLC knowledge and programming, HMI, wiring, safety (PPE, LOTO), troubleshooting.
    • Responsible for the part time direction of fellow employees in the absence of the Team Lead.
    • Volunteer as a member of the safety committee, 5S, continuous improvement, etc.

    Team Lead I

    • All of the above Levels I, II and III
    • Work from the daily production boards.
    • Effectively prioritize issues from the production floor, meetings and training.
    • Work closely with the Supply Chain team to identify part shortages and issues.
    • Communicate with Customer Service representatives and Sales proactively if delay in shipment is going to occur.
    • Execute and coordinate training of assemblers to ensure that procedures are followed and expectations are met.
    • Maintain and update Competency Matrix.
    • Report problems or concerns with, quality, processes, equipment, materials and labor to Production Manager.
    • Work closely with QC and Manufacturing Engineer to ensure that quality issues are quickly resolved to minimize delays.
    • Under the direction of ME, complete quality documentation accurately and timely to avoid delays.
    • Sustain and drive lean manufacturing and 5S activities.
    • Exceed our customer expectations, which means resolving issues quickly.
    • Build and sustain a cohesive team environment with open communication. Team building excercises, reward program, etc.
    • Demonstrate strong organizational skills.
    • Back up Production Manager in their absence.

    Team Lead II

    • Assure that each assembler understands their daily production goals, give them flexibility on achieving the goals and make sure that resources are available to help them.
    • Provide short term solutions to issues in order to eliminate possible delays.
    • Proactively work from the open order schedule and identify parts shortages and/or assembly issues before orders are affected.
    • Responsible for all training of assemblers, with the goal of a cohesive cross functional team that can move to where they are needed.
    • Make real time decisions in the absence of an ME (when ME is unavailable).
    • Troubleshoot and identify issues with equipment that does not pass technical criteria.
    • Work with engineering and supply chain when eliminating a product (PLS) from production to reduce the amount of unused, potential scrap inventory.
    • Work with customer service, sales and supply chain to reduce and maintain lead times for all products in order to meet customer expectations.
    • Participate on the Glenview Safety Committee.
    • Run Monthly safety meetings on a rotating basis with Team Leads and other employees or guests that you bring in.


    POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

    Education: 

    • High School diploma (or GED) preferred.
    • Some technical experience required.

    Experience / Abilities:

    • Level I - 0-1 year of experience
    • Level II - 1 to 2 years experience.
    • Level III – 2 to 3 years experience
    • Team Lead – 3 to 5 years experience

    Computer skills:

    • Head and GP Machine programming for Level II and higher (if applicable).
