Job Description
AECOM is seeking a Structural Engineer to be based in New Orleans, LA.
This position is expected to begin in May 2024.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Builds analytic and design skills.
Conducts engineering design under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
Creates designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, and final working drawings under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
Collects and analyzes data under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
Uses computer software as a tool for solving basic engineering problems.
Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule under supervision.
Qualifications

PE in Civil Structural Field
PhD in Civil Engineering or a similar field, preferably degree focus on Structural Engineering.
Familiar with Civil engineering design principals, steel and concrete design codes and standards. Ideally candidate has the wave, hydrodynamic, or coastal background.
Prior design experience with steel and concrete structures.
Solid knowledge in performing Finite Element analysis, nonlinear analysis, impact modeling, fluid-structural interaction analysis, seismic design, coastal design using computer software such as SAP2000, Etabs, ABAQUS.
Proficiency in Engineering drafting tools, including AutoCAD, Revit.
Ideally understanding the pioneer Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology and coding languages including Python, MATLAB, JavaScript, Kotlin and apply in problem resolution.
Strong organizational, technical, and communication skills.
Actively participate in local professional group such as ASCE student chapter.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Ability to work independently or within a team environment.

Offered rate of compensation ( Louisiana locations only) will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position is $61,000 - $93,000/yr .
