Structural Ironworker installs girders and columns to provide a structural framework. May fabricate and assemble iron and steel materials. Being a Structural Ironworker ensures proper placement and alignment according to blueprints and instructions. Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Additionally, Structural Ironworker may be required to complete an apprenticeship and/or formal training in area of specialty. Typically reports to a supervisor. To be a Structural Ironworker typically requires 1-3 years of related experience. May be entry level if some experience in the skill.
