Salary range for this opportunity is: $42,857/yr. - $55,755/yr. (depending on experience)

As a Student Activities Specialist, you will be responsible for being a key member of the team that promotes leadership development and supports campus involvement in order to create connections for student success. In this role, you will be responsible for facilitating leadership and student engagement opportunities for a diverse student body through participation in Student Leadership programs, student activities, trainings and co-curricular activities.

What you will be working on:

• You'll work with students, clubs and organizations to coordinate, train, and support student leaders, officers, and their advisors with the planning and execution of campus life events and activities.
• You'll manage student events, programs, trainings, workshops, lectures, and discussions that promote student engagement in co-curricular and extra-curricular activities.
• You'll lead cultural programs and community building opportunities for Black, Indigenous, People of Color and LGBTQ student populations (through cultural celebrations, heritage months, club support, affinity group meet-ups etc.).
• You'll contribute to the on-going training, development, and education of students and staff on topics of diversity, equity, inclusion, as well as on campus processes for the planning, execution, accessibility, risk-management, and assessment of student events and activities.
• You'll engage with faculty and staff members developing co-curricular or educational programming that supplements classroom experiences, learning communities, diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives.
• You'll collaborate with a team of student leadership advisors, staff in Student Services and campus partners like International Programs, the Office of Equity Diversity & Inclusion, Guided Pathways, Student Support Services and more.
• You'll supervise a team of student staff members and associated budgets for the Clubs and Activities Board (CAB 2.0)

What you bring as a candidate: (Any Equivalent Combination of Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education and Experience)

• You have an Associates, Bachelors, or Master's Degree
• You have experience working in a higher education or student affairs setting/context
• You have demonstrated experience working effectively with diverse populations within an equity and inclusion framework.
• You have demonstrated experience training, advising, or supervising student employees
• You have demonstrated experience planning and implementing multicultural events and activities
• You have the ability to work cross-functionality, collaboratively, and cooperatively within a diverse community
• You have superior communication, interpersonal, multi-tasking and leadership skills
• You possess strong organizational, administrative, and project management skills
• Have skilled competencies in Microsoft Office suite, social media platforms, and relevant technology.
