The Director of Student Conduct serves as the primary non-academic student conduct administrator. This individual manages the Office of Student Conduct and administers the Code of Student Conduct applicable to all students. The Director of Student Conduct oversees the student conduct process including, but not limited to, training conduct pool members, advisers, and conduct officers, administering the hearing board process, chairing cases, managing the student conduct database, supervising the investigation of alleged violations, reporting of conduct incident statistics, and meeting with students and parents. This position closely collaborates with students, parents, TUPD, HRL, General Counsel's Office, Student Health Center, Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS), Office of the Vice President for Student Affairs, the Office of Fraternity and Sorority Programs, the Office of Institutional Equity, the Newcomb Tulane Undergraduate college and academic departments related to alleged violations of the Code of Student Conduct. Evening and weekend work is required.

Required Education and/or Experience

• 
  Master's degree in student affairs, higher education, counseling or a Juris Doctorate

• 3 years previous supervisory experience

Preferred Qualifications

• 
  Doctoral degree in student affairs, higher education, counseling or law and policy

• Minimum 5 years experience working in student conduct including complex and/or highly visible cases such as hazing or sexual assault; alternatively five years of progressive experience working in an environment with high exposure to conflict resolution and legal issues.

• Experience with fraternity or sorority-based processes

• Knowledge of legal issues facing higher education, particularly Title IX and related legislation

• Knowledge of federal legislation impacting student conduct such as Title IX, FERPA, HIPPA and the Clery Act

• Experience using Maxient, or other Student Conduct Database

• Experience with alternative forms of dispute resolution such as mediation and/or restorative justice

• Experience with complex budgets

• Experience with assessment and annual report writing
