Duties:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive activities program that meets the physical, emotional, and social needs of our residents
- Create and maintain a schedule of activities, ensuring a variety of options to cater to different interests and abilities
- Coordinate and lead group activities such as games, crafts, music therapy sessions, exercise classes, and outings
- Collaborate with other staff members to integrate activities into the overall care plan for each resident
- Provide one-on-one support and assistance to residents who may require additional attention or have specific needs
- Communicate effectively with residents, their families, and staff members to ensure a positive experience for all
- Maintain accurate records of resident participation in activities and evaluate the effectiveness of the program
- Stay updated on current trends and best practices in senior care, memory care, and recreational therapy
Skills:
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage schedules and coordinate multiple activities simultaneously
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with residents, families, and staff members
- Knowledge of social work principles and practices to address the emotional well-being of residents
- Understanding of memory care techniques and strategies for individuals with dementia or cognitive impairments
- Experience in senior care or assisted living settings is preferred but not required
