Student Activities Officer assists in the development, organization, and oversight of the university/college's extra-curricular programs. Sets up social events and has a participatory role in the Greek system, the student government, and student run clubs. Being a Student Activities Officer approves funding for various student activities. Requires a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Student Activities Officer typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Student Activities Officer gains exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. Occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. JOB GOAL: To instruct participants in the fundamental skill, strategy, and physical training necessary for them to realize a degree of individual and team success. At the same time, the student-athlete shall receive instruction that will lead to the formulation and internalization of moral values, pride of accomplishment, acceptable social behavior, self-discipline, self-confidence, and sportsmanship. Implements "quality" principles and tools to improve effectiveness of program.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Contract as determined by sport and season dates. Compensation to be negotiated between the Urbandale Education Association and the Board of Education.
EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with the provisions of the Board of Education.
