    Under the direction of the Associate Provost for Student Success, the Director of Transfer Student Services oversees transfer articulation, transfer evaluation, pre-transfer student advising and the ongoing maintenance and nurturing of academic partnerships. The Director works closely with deans and department chairs, the Office of the Registrar, One-Stop and the Admissions Office to ensure the timely application of transfer credit to student accounts and deliver accurate information to prospective transfer students and their families. The Director plays an integral role in driving a strategic increase in transfer student enrollment in undergraduate programs.

    Core Duties

    Supervision and Management - 20%

    • Directly supervise Transfer Student Services Specialist staff
    • Manage all operations related to transfer credit articulation and evaluation
    • Implement and maintain quality control measures that lead to a high level of accuracy

    Transfer Articulation and Evaluation - 50%

    • Interpret and enforce academic policy as pertains to the evaluation of transfer credit
    • Monitor and ensure accuracy of transfer credit evaluation processing through quality control mechanisms
    • Manage the development and ongoing maintenance of transfer technology and tools, including the Transfer Evaluation System (TES® from College Source) and Methodist University’s transfer guided pathways
    • Regularly audit the transfer articulation database in TES® and in the student information system to ensure accuracy and currency
    • Process transfer evaluation for a small caseload of students and serve as back-up for the Transfer Services Specialist
    • Assist the Associate Provost for Success with the maintenance and development of articulation agreements

    Pre-Transfer Advising Services - 30%

    • Work closely with the Admissions Office to coordinate the delivery of pre-transfer advising services to prospective students
    • Deliver training sessions as needed to student-facing staff in the One-Stop Advising and Admissions offices
    • Plan and deliver the transfer student sessions at New Student Orientation
    • Participate in selected local community college events and nurture the University’s relationships with community college partners
    • Plan and deliver transfer student events as needed
    • Bachelor's degree/Master’s degree preferred
    • Minimum of 2 years of experience in transfer evaluation in a Registrar, Admissions, or Transfer Services office required/ 3 years of experience preferred
    • Experience managing staff preferred
    • Experience using a student information system and/or a customer relationship management system required
    • Experience using a transfer articulation system preferred
    • Ability to analyze data, recognize anomalies and develop quality control solutions required
    • Strong communication skills, including written, interpersonal, and presenting to large groups required
    • Excellent leadership and project management skills required
