Student Union Director directs and oversees all operations of the Student Union in accordance with the university or college's policies and procedures. Responsible for directing all functions including coordinating facility use, administering student services and activities, and ensuring proper safety and security measures. Being a Student Union Director supervises, hires, trains, and evaluates professional and student staff. Requires a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Student Union Director typically reports to top management. The Student Union Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments. To be a Student Union Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience.     REPORTS TO: Director of Operations

    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITES:

    § Leads planning of school-wide events including but not limited to Prayer Walk/Movie Night, Hot Dog night, pep rallies, all school chapels, and other school culture events.

    § Leads in planning high school student events including but not limited to chapels, discipleship groups, house cup events, spiritual retreat, service day, homecoming, prom, food truck Fridays, etc.

    § Leads in planning middle school student events including fall football tailgate party, activity periods, chapels, fun day, service day, etc.

    § Leads in planning elementary school student events including chapels, service opportunities, etc.

    § Spearheads the spiritual development of student body by creating space and opportunities for spiritual growth

    § Specifically leads and disciples high school prefects, and middle school student leadership team

    § Oversees all functions of high school house system including but not limited to keeping tack of points, organizing students into houses, selecting prefects, leading projects, leading prefect meetings, etc.

    § Oversees all functions of middle school student leadership team including but not limited to selecting members, leading projects, leading meetings, organizing projects etc.

    § Fosters a strong sense of community and school spirit pre-K-12

    § Oversee Trip portion of Discover programing while assisting High School Principal with Discovery I

    § Communicates with Leadership Team, Faculty, and staff about projects, event and goals

    § Delegating tasks to appropriate team members

    § Organize third-party providers and vendors for various events and projects throughout the year as needed

    § Organizes and creates parent engagement involving their child's spiritual life and development

    § On occasion conducting tours and attending open houses throughout the year to include after-hours events

    § Collects data about student culture and spiritual development by organizing feedback loops including but not limited to senior exit interviews, spirit pulse survey, middle school student survey, prefect meetings, student leadership team meetings, etc.

    § Protects organization reputation by keeping information confidential

    § Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining and growing personal networks

    § Assist Director of Finance on budgeting and allocating funds as pertains to Student Life Department

    § Enhances organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments

    § Collaborates with administration, faculty, families, and the community in developing and implementing services and/or programs that further student culture and spiritual development

    § Incorporates policies and procedures in accordance with laws and regulations.

    COLLABORATION AND TEAMWORK:

    · Participate in student, faculty, and staff training.

    · Establish and maintain productive partnership relationships with all community members.

    · Collaborate with senior leadership, academic leadership, and other administrative team members.

    · Cooperatively collaborate on projects as directed by the Director of Operations.

    · Other duties as assigned.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

    · Regularly works in standard office conditions and climate.

    · Ability to occasionally move items weighing up to 40 lbs.

    · Regularly works in a dynamic environment, effectively dealing with a wide variety of challenges, deadlines, and a varied and diverse array of contacts.

    · Stamina to maintain attention to detail despite interruptions.

    · Ability to periodically work flexible hours to meet project deadlines and to support occasional morning, evening, or weekend events.

    TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 12 Month Position

    Eight (8) hours per day

    Salary per negotiated agreement

    EVALUATION: Annually, by the Director of Operations

    Pay: $40,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year
