Subrogation Manager is responsible for the daily operations of the department which processes subrogation claims according to established standards and schedules. Oversees the evaluation of subrogation claims and recovery of overpayments for duplicate coverage, workers' compensation, and no-fault claims. Being a Subrogation Manager develops and maintains efficient other party liability and coordination of benefits systems. May be responsible for hiring, training, and firing staff. Additionally, Subrogation Manager may require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Subrogation Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. Extensive knowledge of department processes. What to ExpectWhat You'll DoThe Tesla Insurance team is looking to bring in a Subrogation Adjuster to join their Claims organization.
What You'll Bring- Reviews claim files to identify, evaluate, analyze, and interpret subrogation potential; coordinates appropriate steps to secure evidence and ensure pursuit, development, and recovery of claims; evaluates completeness and accuracy of documentary evidence; records and processes all recovery payments; prepares and issues payments for subrogation expenses; if recovery is completed, ensures policyholders are reimbursed the deductible amounts. File and respond to Arbitration requests
- Efficiently and effectively utilizes multiple Tesla Insurance Claims Information Systems/Programs to accurately maintain subrogation files and file diaries; develops, maintains, produces, administers, and distributes accurate and complete subrogation reports on a monthly and/or as directed basis; provides management with regular updates and status reports on subrogation files
- Per Company claims and/or subrogation guidelines, Company quality and time standards and governmental regulations, appropriately and correctly responds via telephone and email interactions to a wide range of routine to more complex claimants', agents' and/or third party representatives' subrogation and other related inquiries and issues; utilizes tact, diplomacy and professional communication skills to positively represent Harbor Claims in telephone, email and other correspondence-related contacts
- Strong knowledge of various personal lines products, including Property and casualty, personal umbrella products; property-related principles, practices, processes, and terminology; business writing, grammar, and punctuation rules; telephone and email business etiquette rules; desktop computer operations; standard business software and web-based engine operations (e.g., Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook, and Internet Explorer)
- Bachelor's Degree preferred, and equivalent 3-4 years of experience
- Must possess an active adjuster license
