Subrogation Manager is responsible for the daily operations of the department which processes subrogation claims according to established standards and schedules. Oversees the evaluation of subrogation claims and recovery of overpayments for duplicate coverage, workers' compensation, and no-fault claims. Being a Subrogation Manager develops and maintains efficient other party liability and coordination of benefits systems. May be responsible for hiring, training, and firing staff. Additionally, Subrogation Manager may require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Subrogation Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. Extensive knowledge of department processes. The Subrogation Specialist handles a steady case load of subrogation files for various client insurance carriers, both calling and mailing supporting documents to the adverse carrier, and negotiating for maximum recovery. This position is also responsible for a queue of arbitration files, writing successful contentions and applying supporting evidence for all forums within AFs (Arbitration Forums). Work includes Applicant, Response and Counter claims for multiple clients for losses in all 50 States. Priorities and responsibilities will vary throughout the year based upon business needs.
