Subrogation Specialist, Sr. is responsible for subrogation activities including the identification and research of subrogation claims. Assists in the recovery of overpayments. Being a Subrogation Specialist, Sr. coordinates with other departments, insurance representatives and members. Processes subrogation, workers' compensation, and other claims where third-party liability exists. Additionally, Subrogation Specialist, Sr. develops cases resulting from beneficiary or provider-initiated inquiries, internal referrals, personal research, or computer-generated reports. Requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Subrogation Specialist, Sr. works independently within established procedures associated with the specific job function. The University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center, Department of Pediatrics is a large diverse clinical department of approximately 110 clinical faculty as well as multiple staff providers that bill. We are a large, complex department providing outstanding clinical care in 16 clinical subspecialties to the Children of New Mexico that is unequaled in the state or region.
This position, under general supervision, will independently lead the Pediatrics Clinical Practice Team. We are looking for a dynamic individual to take ownership of the following clinical practice areas: Clinical Provider Credentialing, Annual Budget Build of clinical productivity, Monthly Provider Clinical benchmark and productivity reporting and monitor performance over the clinical revenue-generating operations. Ability to analyze, test, and interpret large data sets from various information systems and develop technical comprehensive forecasting, financial and productivity benchmark reporting. Must be a team player and have demonstrated advanced customer service and leadership skills to work directly and communicate effectively with our faculty, midlevel providers and other UNM Health System groups to identify or resolve billing, coding, documentation, denials, write-offs and process issues and opportunities.
In coordination with Division Chiefs and Executive Management, this position will participate in strategic planning of new clinical practice opportunities and provide detailed clinical analysis regarding clinical revenue action plans. In addition, will develop and maintain standard operating procedures and protocol that improves our charge capture processes.
