Substance Abuse Center Director (Hosp. Op.) directs the clinical, managerial, and administrative aspects of substance abuse programs. Measures and evaluates the effectiveness and quality of drug/alcohol rehabilitation treatment procedures to achieve standards and objectives. Being a Substance Abuse Center Director (Hosp. Op.) partners with community agencies and programs to ensure continuity in the type and level of patient care. Ensures compliance with all federal, state, and local standards and requirements. Substance Abuse Counselor Supervisor

    American Health Services is a medication-assisted treatment program.

    We are seeking a certified SUD Counselor Supervisor, who meets California Department of Alcohol and Drug Programs certification requirements at our Bakersfield location.

    Requirements:

    • A SUD Counselor Supervisor candidate must be Certified with CADTP or CCAPP per California DHCS regulations.
    • Minimum of 2 years of experience working in the SUD treatment field required.
    • Minimum of 1 year of experience with counseling supervision preferred.
    • Minimum of 1 year of experience conducting patient file audits preferred.

    Duties:

    • Conduct and monitor Quality Assurance activities to ensure that the program is in compliance with company policies, rules, regulations, and insurance regulations.
    • Provides oversight to ensure the facility meets state/federal standards.
    • Monitor counselors' performance including: attendance, documentation, productivity, and quality of services provided.
    • Conduct counselor trainings.
    • Orient new patients to the programs’ rules, policies, procedures and patients’ rights.
    • Monitor Intakes, Discharge Planning, Initial Needs Assessments, and Initial Treatment Plans in a professional manner and within time guidelines as required by applicable federal and state regulation, COA guidelines and company policies.
    • Ensure that patients are included in their own assessment, evaluation, Treatment Plans and the Clinical Severity Index (CSI), providing the patient with a sense of responsibility for their own recovery.
    • Determine clinical necessity of counseling services based on the clinical assessment and evaluation of the patients.
    • Maintain strict confidentiality guidelines, and ensure counselors are also following confidentiality guidelines.
    • Ensure accurate record of all sessions for appropriate billing.
    • Other duties as required.

    • Ability to supervise and lead program staff and to organize and prioritize workloads for meeting deadlines.
    • Ability to analyze situations, evaluate data, make recommendations and implement courses of actions that would improve the functioning of program processes.
    • Maintains the company’s desired client admissions and census status.
    • Participates and promotes involvement in quality improvement activities, i.e., outcome measures and clientsatisfaction surveys.
    • Supports and promotes facility-wide quality performance improvement goals and objectives.
    • Ability to react calmly and efficiently during a crisis.
    • Identifies staff continuing education needs and ensures that they are met.

    This position requires that applicants be Registered Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Counselor: Must be registered by one of the agencies accredited by the NCCA and recognized by DHCS, which include CADTP and CCAPP; and who must adhere to all requirements of the California Code of Regulations, Title 9, Chapter 8 and Title 9..

    • Maintain compliance with the requirements for continuing education hours and/or units (CEH or CEU) as determined by the Department of Alcohol and Drug Programs and/or other regulatory agencies.

    Job Type: Full-time

    Pay: $23.00 - $26.00 per hour

    Expected hours: 40 per week
