Substance Abuse Center Director (Hosp. Op.) directs the clinical, managerial, and administrative aspects of substance abuse programs. Measures and evaluates the effectiveness and quality of drug/alcohol rehabilitation treatment procedures to achieve standards and objectives. Being a Substance Abuse Center Director (Hosp. Op.) partners with community agencies and programs to ensure continuity in the type and level of patient care. Ensures compliance with all federal, state, and local standards and requirements. Additionally, Substance Abuse Center Director (Hosp. Op.) requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to senior management. The Substance Abuse Center Director (Hosp. Op.) typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Substance Abuse Center Director (Hosp. Op.) typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience.     Responsibilities:

    • Maintains open communication lines with facility staff, attending clinicians and physicians, clients and families
    • Review assessments from referring facilities and note problems/issues that require further attention
    • Gather comprehensive diagnostic information through psychosocial assessment interview
    • Develop an Integrated Summary, bringing together information from all assessments to identify problem areas that may affect treatment and/or need to be addressed in treatment planning
    • Formulate a comprehensive treatment plan with client that effectively addresses client issues
    • Develop interventions that will accomplish goals and objectives and state the planned frequency of interventions
    • Document the client’s progress accurately as it relates to treatment goals and objectives
    • Address problem behaviors
    • Conduct educational groups effectively
    • Provide individual counseling to clients at least (1) time per week
    • Assist clients in gaining insight into problems
    • Assist clients in understanding treatment goals
    • Maintain healthy boundaries
    • Understand and apply the program’s clinical philosophy
    • Maintain regular contact and open communication with families
    • Demonstrate good strategic and problem-solving skills
    • Maintain clinical records according to program policies and those of licensing and accrediting agencies
    • Ensure that documentation is timely, consistent, clear and articulate
    • Develop a discharge plan that meets client needs for ongoing support
    • Pursue professional development through participation in education and training programs

    Qualifications:

    • Master’s Degree in clinical mental health, social work, or marriage and family therapy
    • Licensed within the state of Florida, preferred
    • Chemical Dependency experience strongly preferred
