JOB SUMMARY
Center for Progressive Wellness is a substance use disorder and co-occurring disorders capable treatment program that offers a comprehensive, evidence-based and trauma-informed service delivery model for at-risk youth, ages 12 through 17. We are seeking a Substance Use Disorder Counselor (SUD Counselor) to join our Wellness Team who has high ethical standards and a desire to positively impact the lives of youth with substance use disorders, their families, and communities. Under the supervision of the Program Director, the SUD Counselor is primarily responsible for maintaining a client caseload and delivering evidence-based, culturally competent, trauma-informed, individualized treatment plan and recovery services at our drug and alcohol program.
REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE:
A qualified candidate must possess one (1) of the following:
1. AOD Counselor certification through one of the certifying organizations recognized by the State of California’s Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) AND a minimum two year of experience in providing SUD treatment in a DHCS certified adolescent outpatient program.
OR
2. AOD Counselor registration and actively working toward certification through one of the certifying organizations recognized by DHCS AND a minimum two years of experience in providing SUD treatment in a DHCS certified adolescent outpatient program.
