Supply Chain Analyst jobs in District of Columbia
Supply Chain Analyst monitors and expedites the flow of goods, resources, and information required by the supply chain to ensure that critical processes run effectively and achieve organizational goals and performance KPIs. Coordinates with procurement, production, inventory control, distribution, transportation, and other functions to optimize the supply chain. Being a Supply Chain Analyst identifies bottlenecks or problem areas and escalates or proposes solutions. Works with suppliers to resolve issues. Additionally, Supply Chain Analyst may assist in the negotiation of contracts or service arrangements. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Supply Chain Analyst occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. The Office of the Assistant Secretary for Research and Technology coordinates the U.S. Department of Transportation's research programs and is charged with advancing rigorous analysis and the deployment of cross-cutting technologies to improve our Nation's transportation system. We are the U.S. Department of Transportation's Bureau of Transportation Statistics (BTS) Office of Transportation Analysis (OTA). BTS is the Principal Federal Statistical Agency that provides objective, comprehensive, and relevant information on the extent and use of the Nation’s transportation system, how well the system performs, and the effects of the system on society and the environment. OTA compiles statistics and indicators on the Nation’s transportation system to inform policy development and investment decisions by DOT, Congress, federal, state, and local governments and the private sector. The second project would be to assist in the creation of a new e-Commerce data program. The appointment will be served within the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Research and Technology and the Bureau of Transportation Statistics, Office of Transportation Analysis, in Washington, DC as an Transportation Program Analysis Fellow.
