Supply Chain Director directs overall supply chain operations, including purchasing, inventory, selection of vendors, and distribution of finished goods. Develops and implements a strategy to ensure that critical processes run effectively and achieve organizational goals and performance KPIs. Being a Supply Chain Director negotiates with vendors to obtain optimal contracts and pricing. Utilizes data monitoring and analytics to evaluate past performance and trends and forecast inventory and distribution requirements. Additionally, Supply Chain Director requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Supply Chain Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Supply Chain Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.   • Job Summary

    This position will maintain a sufficient level of medical supply items for each customer in an organized manner. Maintain neat and organized files on each customer with timely updates. Maintain correct levels of inventory for distribution to customers. Delivers correct medical supply item to correct department.

    Responsible for assisting the Resource and Distribution Manager with administration of orientation programs for new personnel, providing feedback regarding personnel performance, adjusting work assignments if necessary and other duties as assigned.

    Minimum Job Requirements

    • High school diploma or equivalent.
    • Valid driver’s License and proof of insurance with the minimum liability limits detailed in the Administrative Policy on “Insurance Coverage Required for Use of Employee Owned Vehicles.”
    • Minimum of two (2) years materials management and/or healthcare experience with an emphasis in receiving/distribution, central sterile or other area as related to materials management.

     

    Skills / Knowledge / Abilities

    • Excellent communication skills to effectively and tactfully communicate with patients and their families and guests, co-workers, managers, Hospital Administrators, providers, consultants, business associates and regulatory agencies presenting a professional image as a representative of Marion Health.
    • Interpersonal skills necessary in order to carry out duties in a professional manner, as well as the ability to work well under stress.
    • Excellent time management, and organizational skills. 
    • Ability to problem solve, multi-task in a fast-paced setting and work well in a team environment.
    • Ability to negotiate effective working relationships and develop positive resolution to conflict.
    • Highly developed computer skills to include proficiency with Microsoft Office, and the ability to learn and proficiently perform computer applications related to department operations and job function.
    • Excellent customer service skills.
    • High degree of accuracy with concentration and close attention to detail.
    • Ability to be discreet and protect the integrity of any confidential matter or information encountered during the performance of job duties.

    Working Conditions

    • Typical office and clinical/hospital environment with frequent standing and walking. 
    • Work subject to interruptions and high stress levels.
    • Ability to work occasional extended hours, evenings and/or weekends based on the needs of the department. 
    • Exposed to cold and hot weather with occasional handling of toxic chemicals. 
    • Risk of occupational exposure to blood/body fluids and other potentially infectious, electrical and radiation hazards.
    • Works with protected health information.
    • Ability to work occasional extended hours, evening and/or weekends based on the needs of the department.

    Physical and Mental Activities, Tools and Equipment

    • Use of personal computer and other standard office equipment.
    • Lifts  supplies or equipment. 
    • Lifting, pushing, pulling, walking sitting, reaching, bending, kneeling or stooping to perform duties in a safe manner.
