Supply Chain Director directs overall supply chain operations, including purchasing, inventory, selection of vendors, and distribution of finished goods. Develops and implements a strategy to ensure that critical processes run effectively and achieve organizational goals and performance KPIs. Being a Supply Chain Director negotiates with vendors to obtain optimal contracts and pricing. Utilizes data monitoring and analytics to evaluate past performance and trends and forecast inventory and distribution requirements. Additionally, Supply Chain Director requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Supply Chain Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Supply Chain Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.     The Supply Chain Director is responsible for overseeing our supply chain and logistics operations including forecasting, demand planning and procurement, as well as inbound and outbound transportation and export control in order to endure timely, cost-effective and efficient delivery of goods to our customers.

    Supervisory Responsibilities


    This position supervises all warehouse operations in all locations as well as Procurement and Logistics. Supervisory responsibilities include scheduling, performance management, employee relations and functional job training.


    Duties

    • Develop and implement supply chain strategies that support the overall business objectives of the company.
    • Establish and maintain relationships with carriers, and logistics providers to ensure the timely and cost-effective delivery of goods.
    • Manage inventory levels to meet demand, while minimizing excess and obsolete inventory.
    • Optimize transportation and distribution networks to ensure efficient and cost-effective delivery of goods.
    • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies related to supply chain operations.
    • Deploy new processes, standards, and operational plans for the Supply Chain Management function.
    • Lead the supply chain function by developing and communicating a clear vision across functional teams and stakeholders to drive successful business processes and growth.
    • Manage across different stakeholders and functional areas for alignment and focus.
    • Lead and manage all aspects of transportation, warehousing, and distribution across the supply chain network.
    • Establish and manage challenging and appropriate KPIs for the supply chain to ensure alignment with our Global Supply Chain and Operations strategy and to improve performance.
    • Responsible for the achievement of key business metrics; performance to financial budget/forecast, capital tied to inventory, inventory balance sheet, On-Time-In-Full, traditional planning, purchasing, distribution, and warehouse measures of effectiveness.
    • Drive the transformation into an agile and customer-oriented supply chain to reach the group targets.
    • In cooperation with the Procurement team, chase and manage external and internal Pos to avoid any shortage at customer’s sites.
    • Follow customer OTD performance, customer lead time and implement relevant actions plans to reach >95% OTD and market lead time.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings.
    • Develop, standardize, and implement a robust demand and material planning and forecasting process working in close alignment with External Sales, External and Inter Company Suppliers.
    • Determine staffing requirements to implement a sustainable and efficient supply chain.
    • Live and fulfill the company’s standards, policies, procedures and practices.
    • Secondary duties with added requirements may be assigned from time to time.

Must be up to date in knowledge of modern supply chain systems, processes and methods to implement best in class solutions. Position requires a high level of analytical skill.


    Education and/or Experience


    This position requires at least 10 years of varied experience in the following areas; managing supply chain operations, logistics and vendors; developing and implementing supply chain planning processes; leading high performing functional teams. A Bachelor’s degree is required in either Purchasing and Supply Chain, Materials Management or a similar field.


    Language Skills


    The ability to communicate in English verbally and in writing is essential. Reports, email correspondence, schedules, are all typical requirements of this position and must be effectively and professionally communicated.


    Mathematical Skills


    Strong mathematical skills are required.


    Reasoning Ability


    The incumbent must be able to manage through complexity to identify solutions and deliver results. Must be able to solve both practical and complex problems and deal with a variety of factors.


    Certificates, Licenses, Registrations


    Valid driver’s license is required.


    TOOLS AND/OR EQUIPMENT


    This position uses a computer extensively with demonstrated abilities in the use of Microsoft products as well as other common office type equipment. Experience with SAP S4 Hana or equivalent supply chain management software is desired.


    WORK ENVIRONMENT
