The Nursery Supply Manager manages all aspects of assigned and local nursery suppliers, including but not limited to negotiating pricing to hit company margin targets, building the local supply chain by forecasting and program building to assist in reaching the companies in stock goals, and managing the Blue Yonder Vendor Commitment processes. 

What you’ll do:

• Manage all aspects of assigned supplier relationships to support company’s overall objectives.
• Work in coordination with Category to support the nursery inventory and supplier program needs of the assigned areas.
• Secures product needs for assigned business units or geographical areas.
• Manages the execution and processing of the Nursery Vendor Commitment Process within given timelines and manages Open To Buy both pre and in season to ensure full pipeline of product.
• Evaluates each supplier’s capabilities to deliver a consistent and reliable stream of products to satisfy the performance standards that meet the company’s requirements of cost, quality, availability, and service.
• Visit suppliers as required ensuring vendor capability, performance, and commitment to meet or exceed the company’s overall requirements.
• Provide the field and central procurement group with regular updates of market trends, gather information on supply within the growing community.
• Negotiates with nursery suppliers on costs, product availability, service levels, and potential supply programs as needed for local markets.

• 3 years experience Understanding of the functions of negotiation and contract writing.         
• 5 years experience of plants in a variety of different hardiness zones.
• 5 years experience of horticulture, including plant requirements and nomenclature.   
• 5 years experience of nursery, irrigation and landscape products. 
• Skilled in interpersonal communications with a high emotional quotient 
• 30% travel required         
• Working knowledge Excel, googlesheets, Blue Yonder or other related systems, Outlook
