Job Description:
Job Summary: The Application Support Analyst assists with optimizing and customizing business applications to align data inputs, outputs, and workflows with organizational needs. This role involves configuring systems, defining business rules, and customizing workflows to enhance data accuracy, compliance, and process efficiency. The Analyst collaborates closely with IT and various business units to integrate systems, troubleshoot issues, and facilitate user adoption of new configurations. This position analyzes data, configures reports, and delivers insights that support decision-making. Additionally, the Analyst acts as a liaison between stakeholders to ensure alignment between business processes and technology, contributing to continuous process improvements and ensuring high data quality.
Essential Job Functions & Accountabilities:
Defines organization-specific modifications to business applications to ensure that data inputs, outputs, and workflows align with business needs. Serves as a subject matter expert for operational adjustments to work queues, appropriate reports, etc.
Customizes system workflows through modifications to improve data capture, reporting, and process improvements without requiring custom development.
Defines business rules within applications to ensure data accuracy, compliance, and relevance for business users.
Identifies opportunities for business process improvements through better configuration of process workflow and data flows within the application.
Works closely with business units to understand their data requirements and optimize the configuration of applications or define build requirements for the IT department to meet those needs.
Provides guidance to end-users on how to utilize the data-related features within business applications to enhance productivity and decision-making.
Serves as the liaison between business and IT departments to ensure effective information systems.
Participates in the implementation, testing, and validation of information systems.
Supports troubleshooting and resolving system issues, working closely with IT staff to ensure ongoing functionality and updates.
Oversees the development and optimization of dashboards, Epic electronic medical record (EMR) clinical documentation tools, and reports to inform QI and satisfy grant funding deliverables.
Manages application changes that impact data flows or configurations, ensuring any changes are documented, tested, and aligned with business goals.
Supports change management initiatives by ensuring that users understand how new configurations impact data workflows and business processes.
Analyzes and documents client's business requirements and processes; communicates requirements to technical personnel by constructing basic conceptual data and process models, including process flowcharts and technical specifications.
Disseminates information gathered into details including sources of data, data types, users, user types, interface components, interface navigation needs, reporting needs, and administrative system needs.
Presents concepts in a concise and focused manner, including narrative, process diagrams, role and accountability diagrams, and business-focused storyboards to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Develops and configures reports, dashboards, and KPIs within the application to support business needs.

- Bachelor’s degree in health information management, Computer Science, Information Technology, clinically oriented health field, or another related field.
2 years of experience in application support, system administration, analytics, or a related role.

- 6 years of experience in application support, system administration, analytics, or a related role.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field of study.
- 5 plus years of experience in a hospital business or registration office.
- 5 plus years of experience as a contact center manager and/or similar position.
- Epic proficiency or certification in ambulatory or revenue cycle modules.
- Experience in change management and user training/support.
